A DM at the height of the financial crisis, announcing record sales of The Economist. These went out to media buyers.

When you think of the global economic crisis, the last thing that probably comes to mind is a celebration.

But at The Economist, we couldn’t be happier. That’s because despite the global downturn, our circulation figure keeps going up. In fact, with five years of steady increases in our circulation figure, The Economist has been consistently defying industry trends. We’ve enjoyed year-on-year growth of 6% globally and 4% for Asia Pacific, which is a trend that’s set to continue.

Now we think that’s worth a bit of cheer.
